Welcome
Welcome to the new Swirlee. If you’ve visited Swirlee in the last nine months or so, you probably found it on hiatus. Now Swirlee is back in full-featured form, complete with feeds, archives, comments, tags, and so on. It’s still not 100% complete (be gentle!), but most of the functionality you expect in a blog is present. Of course, a lot has happened on the web since the last time...

Arduino
Arduino An amazing little controller board for your electronics projects that fits in the palm of your hand. Arduino interfaces via USB and is controlled by the Java-based Processing/Wiring language(s). You can build one by hand from the free schematics or order a pre-built board for $25. Lots of features, and they’re working on Bluetooth and Ethernet versions, too.

has_and_belongs_to_none
has_and_belongs_to_none There are geek shirts, and then there are geek shirts. If not for the fact that nobody outside a Ruby on Rails conference would get it, I would declare :"ceci n'est pas un string" and validates_presence_of :bling instant classics. (via RedHanded)

The Deep Sky Frontier
The Deep Sky Frontier A really, really, really big web site. “At 77 pixels to the inch, this page takes up 3.4e18 square miles and is 1.844 billion miles on a side … That’s about 17 billion times the surface area of the Earth.”

“There are only two kinds of people in this world. One wants to travel back in time to get drunk with pirates. The other simply wants to travel back in time to see what color dinosaurs really were.” — diesel sweeties #1516
