How to respond to a compliment about what you’re wearing.
I’ll gladly attribute this piece of advice to the source if I could find it. Having this at the tip of my tongue has been a boon over the past few months as I’ve started to receive compliments about the way I’m dressed. It beats that momentary awkwardness as your mind races trying to find an appropriate response. And it sure beats the dumb stuff I used to say like “Oh, it was just twenty bucks on eBay!”

I would argue this is an appropriate response to just about ANY compliment you receive. You don’t look conceited OR self-deprecating, just gracious.

When someone tells me they like something I’m wearing I tend to say, “Thanks, me too!” And then facepalm.
