The marketing campaign for Tenacious D in ‘The Pick of Destiny’ is really ramping up. Here’s two different videos for “Classico,” one of the songs from the movie. (Note: Both are PNSFW.) The first looks like it’s from the movie itself:

The second is an animation directed by John Kricfalusi of Ren & Stimpy fame:
The movie opens in theatres on November 22 and the album goes on sale on November 14. Also check out this set of promo clips.
A cover of Outkast’s “Hey Ya” by amazing German country cover band The BossHoss. They’ve also covered Nelly’s “Hot in Herre,” Cameo’s “Word Up,” and Britney Spears’ “Toxic.”
A new Nightmare soundtrack Disney is giving Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween 2006 re-release, but what’s more interesting is that they’re producing a new soundtrack album featuring covers of the film’s original songs by Fall Out Boy, Marilyn Manson, Fiona Apple, Panic! At The Disco, and others. In stores October 24.
Bubbling bubbling super beans

Machoman’s official web site is not to be missed, in particular Machoman Karaoke. You can buy the album on Amazon. (Thanks, Tom!)
In the words of my girlfriend, “How do you decide that your three-year-old daughter should have a music video?” English lyrics here. (Thanks, Cara!)
A stirring (and somewhat bizarre) mash-up of the Simpsons and Star Trek themes performed on an electric piano, theremin, and plastic funnel.
“Particle Man” vs. Lost Another They Might Be Giants/Lost mash-up. Worth sticking around for the punchline. See also Lost Fingertips. P.S. “Embedding disabled by request” on YouTube is really lame. (Thanks, Roxy!)
Snakes on a Plane: The Album is not at all what I’d have expected. (Thanks, Amanda!)
A brilliant mash-up of They Might Be Giants’ “Fingertips” with well-chosen scenes from Lost.
DialASong.com They Might Be Giants have launched a brand new DialASong.com. Though I was fond of the old Chopping Block-designed site, the new site is more faithful to the original Dial-A-Song concept and also serves as a portal to TMBG’s excellent podcast.
Rhyme Torrents A free four-volume compilation of nerdcore music. Not 100% excellent, but I’m enjoying Volume I. Highlights include tracks by MC Frontalot, Beefy, Ultraklystron, MC Plus+, and Nursehella. (via Slashdot)
Hello Radio: The Songs of They Might Be Giants A TMBG tribute album released today featuring covers by Frank Black, The Wrens, Ok Go, and more. Don’t miss the video for Steve Burns’ cover of “Dead” (an ironic choice considering the rumors of his untimely demise). (via TMBW)
The Evolution of “Crazy” The Italian instrumental that forms the irresistible bassline and melody of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy.” Also includes a few nice covers and live performances. (via Waxy.org)
They Might Be Giants in Concert A 50-minute live recording from June 30 at the WXPN World Cafe in Philadelphia. (Use Real Alternative—Windows only—if you’re allergic to RealPlayer like me.) (via TMBW)
